Professional Information
Hello, and welcome.
My name is Mirakel Mayoral-Goodwin, LMSW (Texas License #109069), and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Texas. I provide counseling services through Healing Bruja Counseling & Consulting under clinical supervision in accordance with Texas licensure requirements.
Clinical supervision is provided by Dr. Sarah K. Howell, LCSW-S (Texas License #58920).
My practice is grounded in social work values, including dignity and worth of the person, self-determination, cultural humility, social justice, and ethical practice.
Scope of Services
Counseling services are designed to support mental health and emotional well-being.
Services provided through Healing Bruja Counseling & Consulting do not include:
- Emergency or crisis services
- Medical treatment
- Medication management
- Legal advice
- Forensic evaluations
- Court-ordered assessments unless specifically agreed upon in writing
If a client's needs fall outside the scope of practice or competence of the provider, appropriate referrals may be provided.
Confidentiality
The privacy of clients is respected and protected in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, professional ethics, and clinical standards.
Information shared during counseling sessions is generally confidential.
Limits of Confidentiality
Confidentiality may be limited in circumstances including, but not limited to:
- Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder adult, or vulnerable adult
- Serious risk of harm to self
- Serious risk of harm to others
- Court orders or other legal requirements
- Situations otherwise required by law
If a situation arises in which confidentiality cannot be maintained, only the information necessary to comply with legal and ethical obligations will be disclosed.
Telehealth Services
Telehealth services are offered to clients located within the State of Texas, subject to applicable laws, regulations, and clinical appropriateness.
Clients participating in telehealth services are responsible for ensuring access to:
- A private location whenever possible
- A secure internet connection
- Appropriate technology capable of supporting video sessions
Telehealth services may not be appropriate in all situations. Recommendations regarding modality will be made collaboratively and in consideration of client safety, privacy, and treatment needs.
Communication and Emergencies
Healing Bruja Counseling & Consulting does not provide emergency, crisis, or twenty-four-hour services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency:
- Call 911
- Go to your nearest emergency room
- Call or text 988
- Contact local crisis services in your area
Email, voicemail, website contact forms, and other electronic communications should not be used for urgent or emergency situations.
Fees and Financial Policies
Healing Bruja Counseling & Consulting currently operates as a private-pay practice.
Fees for services, payment policies, scheduling procedures, cancellation expectations, and related financial information will be discussed prior to the initiation of services and documented through the informed consent process.
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Healing Bruja Counseling & Consulting does not currently participate as an in-network provider with insurance plans. Clients who wish to seek possible reimbursement through out-of-network benefits are encouraged to contact their insurance carrier directly regarding eligibility and requirements.
Clients are encouraged to ask questions regarding fees, policies, and financial responsibilities before beginning treatment.
Client Rights
Clients have the right to:
- Be treated with dignity and respect
- Participate actively in treatment planning
- Ask questions about services and treatment approaches
- Receive information necessary to make informed decisions
- Decline recommendations or interventions
- Request referrals when appropriate
- Terminate services at any time
- File a complaint regarding professional services
