About Your Therapist
My story
My name is Mírakel Mayoral-Goodwin. My pronouns are she/her/ella. I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under clinical supervision for independent licensure in the state of Texas. I primarily work supporting children and adolescents, though I also work with adults, in navigating life transitions, identity, relationships, trauma, and milestones.
I'm a strong believer that therapy is a place where you are free to explore your life story with curiosity rather than judgment.
My Therapeutic Approach
As a social worker and a therapist, I examine people within the larger systems that shape their lives—family, culture, community, school, work, and relationships. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I find it more helpful to ask, "What has happened to you?" and "How did you adapt?"
I believe:
- people make sense in context
- behavior has a function
- patterns aren't failures
- identity develops over time
- healing isn't linear
- therapy is collaborative
